My goal as a teacher is to guide students to play pieces they enjoy playing, while also focusing on developing their music reading abilities and refining their piano technique. By instilling these basic skills, I strive to ensure that my students will derive lasting enjoyment from playing the piano for years to come. Although I learned classical piano from a strict teacher, my approach is to foster a relaxed and easy going atmosphere. I enjoy learning about music that my students like. Along with classical, I have taught pop music, computer game music, and modern pieces from India and China.

Monthly Online Piano Lessons
My monthly rates are affordable and my schedule is flexible. In addition to weekly private lessons, students will participate in two online recitals per year. Monthly group lessons covering Music Theory, World Music and Improvisation will also be included.
Tuition - $100/Month for 12 months/year
Tuition includes 40 lessons per year @ $30 per lesson. There is no extra charge if more than 40 lessons are desired during the year.
Single lessons are also available @ $30 per lesson for students who do not wish to commit to a monthly plan, as long as there are openings.
With an extensive background in advanced piano, music theory and world music, I have experience teaching classical, pop and jazz piano along with music theory. I love finding new music my students enjoy listening to and teaching them arrangements suitable for their skill level. I make my classes entertaining for students with games and videos.
Online Recitals
Performing opportunities are an important part of learning an instrument. A significant portion our lessons will focus on preparing pieces selected by students for recitals. Online recitals are offered twice a year for students to perform for each other and their families.

World Music Classes
Group classes will be offered once a month. We will explore the music from around the world along with music theory. These classes will be an opportunity for students to meet each other. There will be games and other fun ways for students to learn how to express their creativity and to interact with the group. This class will be open to everyone and not just my private students.
A group lesson on music theory and improvisation will be available soom.
Piano students and musicians of all ages are invited to join us free of charge. The first class will introduce a brief overview of the circle of fifths and the pentatonic scale that was documented in ancient Chinese writings on music theory. Along with group improvisation ideas for all levels.
